It all started nearly six years ago, outside a lecture hall, when a mutual friend called James over to discuss American Football. Coincidentally, this friend also knew one of Coralie's friends, so Coralie was sitting nearby. James had already noticed Coralie and thought she was beautiful, so he purposefully went over to say hello.

Coralie was uninterested in the American Football discussion, but when the conversation shifted to debating whether the Treaty of Waitangi was ratified in international law, Coralie's interest sparked (luckily for James, Coralie only likes intelligent people). She sided with James and introduced herself. Just 15 minutes later, James gathered the courage to ask Coralie on a date.

From that moment, we felt at home with each other and soon became inseparable. Over the next 5.5 years, we faced the challenges of life and law school together. Though our study methods have never gelled, we shared the stresses of doing the same papers and being competitive with each other.

During this time, we have learnt to deal with each other's annoying quirks, had lots of laughs with and at each other, and been through a lot already. Most importantly, we have faced the world as a team.

Now, six years later, James prepared the most beautiful proposal on the island where we will soon be wed. Having recently finished our degrees and started full-time jobs, we are excited to create a life we love together.
